With its opening in 1904, the facility remains the first and largest medical center in DuPage County. Bolingbrook Medical Center offers emergency services. Other services also include occupational health, the Paulson Rehab Network, cardiac rehab and an on-campus Physician Office Building, which gives patients access to medical specialists from Hinsdale Hospital. ![]() Hinsdale Hospital is home to many of the area's first and latest in medical research and technology centers. The Opler Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a comprehensive community cancer center. The Opler Cancer Center offers cancer treatment and is one of the few in Illinois to offer tertiary-level cancer services, such as prostate seed implants, radiosurgery, hyperthermia treatments, experimental options. Other Hinsdale Hospital programs include state-of-the-art treatment to people experiencing chest pain, including thrombolytic therapy and comprehensive cardiovascular services through the Rooney Heart Institute. The Rooney Heart Institute provides treatment and rehabilitation services, as well as educational programs. State-of-the-art open heart surgery procedures, including coronary artery bypass and valve replacements are offered, as well as coronary angioplasty and atherectomy. The hospital's Sleep Lab is the only program accredited by the American Sleep Disorder Association in DuPage County, and one of only 300 nationally accredited programs. In addition, the sleep lab offers a specialized Insomnia Clinic. ![]() Comprehensive mental health care and chemical dependency treatment is offered through Behavioral Health Services. Inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment programs are available for both adults and adolescents. The Psychiatric Partial Hospital program offers a unique alternative to inpatient psychiatric treatment, as well as transitional services for recently discharged patients. Chemical dependency treatment is offered through the New Day Center, the area's first chemical dependency program to offer a two-year aftercare program for drug and alcohol rehabilitation. New Day Center also offers intervention counseling, inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, workplace education and training, and smoking cessation programs. The Paulson Rehab Network offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Four convenient sites are located at Hinsdale Hospital, the Paulson Center (Willowbrook), the Bolingbrook Medical Center and Peak Performance (Homewood). Other specialized services provided by Hinsdale Hospital include ConfiCare, a free health and education club for seniors. The HealthLink program offers a wide variety of health education programs to the community, including support groups, fitness, nutrition and weight loss programs, smoking cessation and childbirth preparation classes. ![]() Hinsdale Hospital is the site of DuPage County's only physician teaching program. The Hinsdale Family Practice Residency Program, founded in 1975, has graduated nearly 200 family practice physicians.
